Describe your study idea by stating the factor you would like to study using an experimental design.

For this homework assignment, you will need to:
Develop a study idea for investigating one of the factors listed in the article that could include an Experimental Design. To design an actual experiment, you must select a factor that you can experimentally manipulate. To experimentally manipulate the variable, you will need to be able to randomly assign participants to different conditions (e.g., experimental vs. control condition)
Describe your study idea by stating the factor you would like to study using an experimental design. State the independent variable, the dependent variable, and how you think you could manipulate the independent variable. For instance, what would you have participants do in the experimental vs. the control condition that would help you test that factor’s influence?
Describe any confounding variables you think you would need to control for (e.g., alternative explanations).
Develop a study idea to investigate one of the factors listed in the article that would require a Quasi-Experimental Design. Researchers rely on quasi-experimental designs when they cannot experimentally manipulate an independent variable. In other words, they cannot randomly assign participants to conditions. This occurs either because it would be unethical to randomly assign participants to certain conditions (e.g., randomly assigning participants to conditions in which they are asked to take pills that contain addictive substances) or because it is not possible to randomly assign participants (e.g., it is not possible to randomly assign participants to different genders, age groups, or cultures). To design a quasi-experiment, you will need to select a factor that you could not experimentally manipulate and determine the groups that you would compare to investigate that factor.
Describe your study idea by stating the factor you would like to study using a quasi-experimental design. State the independent variable (e.g., the grouping variable) and the dependent variable. State why you think the groups that you are comparing for your independent variable will help you to understand the potential influence of the factor you would be studying.
Describe any confounding variables you think you would need to try to control for or that might bias your results (e.g., alternative explanations, selection effects, etc).

C.z. is a 20-year-old caucasian male who is in his second year of college.

C.Z. is a 20-year-old Caucasian male who is in his second year of college. He is seeking treatment due to persistent fears that campus security and the local police are tracking and surveilling him. He cites occasional lags in his internet speed as evidence that surveillance devices are interfering with his electronics. His intense anxiety about this has begun getting in the way of his ability to complete schoolwork, and his friends are concerned – he says they have told him, “you’re not making sense.”
C.Z. occasionally laughs abruptly and inappropriately and sometimes stops speaking mid-sentence, looking off in the distance as though he sees or hears something. He expresses concern about electronics in the room (phone, computer) potentially being monitored and asks repeatedly about patient confidentiality, stating that he wants to be sure the police won’t be informed about his treatment. His beliefs are fixed, and if they are challenged, his tone becomes hostile.
Discuss the etiology, course, and the structural/functional abnormalities of schizophrenia.
Discuss the evidence-based pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment for this patient usibcing the US Clinical Guidelines.

Music

The music may be classified as either classical, jazz, folk, or ethnic (bluegrass, celtic, reggae, etc.).

For this assignment, you will attend a local musical concert, preferably not one you would automatically attend given your musical tastes. The music may be classified as either classical, jazz, folk, or ethnic (bluegrass, Celtic, reggae, etc.). The concert should be performed by a professional company, not a local church or community group. Take extensive notes before and after the concert and include in your observations:
Name of the event
Name of performers, especially soloists
Specific classification of music
Name and description of venue
Description of audience
Specific compositions performed
Next, do some research on the music you heard and the performers who delivered it to gain the broadest possible understanding of your experience.
Reflect on how your own musical tastes aligned with the music. What are your musical tastes and why do you hold them? Were you primarily responding to the music or were you responding more to the setting or the performers? How much of your reaction was a response to taste versus a critical judgment?
Compose a 500-700 word newspaper-style review of the concert you attended. Incorporate in your review the detailed information that you compiled in your notes, but weave this information into a coherent essay with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Conclude with a critical judgment of the quality of the event which addresses your own tastes but responds principally to the music itself.
It will be prudent to look over a few professional reviews to get some ideas for an appropriate style for your review. Look at online reviews from other concerts, not yours, that were printed in The New York Times or some other major newspaper.
Include with your review some evidence of attendance, like the image of a ticket stub.
I have the ticket stub myself but I never actually went to the concert in person. I chose a performance that Marcus Johnson performed recently and I could not find any of the concert I have the ticket stub for. However, I do have some videos in which you can gather information on the soloists and people performing. I linked in the materials a few pictures of the venue and where they performed. I also linked a picture of the entertainment advertisement of the people who performed.
I know that they ask for specific compositions that were performed but I was told he would be performing his new album at the concert. I put screenshots of the new album in the materials section and you can choose a couple names from there to talk about.
I know that there might be some questions ahead so feel free to message. I have you looking at YouTube videos of a different Marcus Johnson concert and saying you attended another so it might be kind of difficult. But you can make the stuff up about or even talk about your own music tastes in responses to the paper’s questions about those things.
When asked about the audience you can gather some information from the YouTube videos or from the pictures of the venue I gave. You might be able to get an idea from there.
These are the YouTube videos below for the Marcus Johnson concert and each capture a solo from the 3 artists. You can just say the other two guys performing are the two from the entertainment advertisement. (Marcbcius Mitchell, Phillip “Doc” Martin)

A challenge would be being able not to let things i cannot control bother me and affect my day.

Please check the picture of the rubric for requirements. 500 words. My spiritual perspective is Christian, my faith is Baptist, I believe strongly in God and that Jesus died for our sins. My spiritual strength is my gift of song which I sing and practice faithfully as a pastors daughter, and to be able to make a positive situation out of negativity. A challenge would be being able not to let things I cannot control bother me and affect my day. To me this gives things or people power over me which no one should have but God. Please add a few scripturbcies if possible as well.

In today’s political environment, we have seen the emergence of popular entertainers — singers, musicians, movie stars, and so on — taking center stage to promote and raise money for the candidates of their choice. Some people feel that these entertainers should stick to their own business, while others believe that they have a right, and perhaps even an obligation, to speak their minds. In your view, what do you think the role of entertainers should be in politics? Do they exert undue influence because of their popularity and easy access to the media? Carefully explabciin the rationale for your position.
