In preparation for writing your report to senior management next week, conduct the following descriptive statistics analyses with Microsoft® Excel®. Answer the questions below in your Microsoft® Excel® sheet or in a separate Microsoft® Word document:
Insert a new column in the database that corresponds to “Annual Sales.” Annual Sales is the result of multiplying a restaurant’s “SqFt.” by “Sales/SqFt.”
Calculate the mean, standard deviation, skew, 5-number summary, and interquartile range (IQR) for each of the variables.
Create a box-plot for the “Annual Sales” variable. Does it look symmetric? Would you prefer the IQR instead of the standard deviation to describe this variable’s dispersion? Why?
Create a histogram for the “Sales/SqFt” variable. Is the distribution symmetric? If not, what is the skew? Are there any outliers? If so, which one(s)? What is the “SqFt” area of the outlier(s)? Is the outlier(s) smaller or larger than the average restaurant in the database? What can you conclude from this observation?
What measure of central tendency is more appropriate to describe “Sales/SqFt”? Why?

Inside the box of every cereal box contains a surprise gift. The store manager assures employees that 11 of the 51 boxes on the shelf have a secret decoder ring and inside the other 40 boxes on the shelf contain a different gift. If two cereal boxes are randomly selected from the shelf to purchase, what is the probability that both of them have the secret decoder ring? (Give answer as a decimal correct to least three decimal places.)

I have already made a google form with about 200 target audience but i want you to try to simulate it for about 400 people? Then analyze the results via SPSS.
Chapter 4 Findings and analysis
• Provide clear and logical presentation of the findings or results of your research, sighting corresponding examples/ instances from your collected/ generated data  o These might include tables, graphs or other diagrams
• Ensure your results correspond with your stated research objectives/ research questions, or hypotheses (if applicable)
• You might want to consider integrating this section with Chapter 5 (below) or it can be a standalone Chapter.
Chapter 5 Discussion and Evaluation
Provide an analytical/ critical discussion of your findings/ results aimed at addressing your research objectives or answering your stated research question(s)/ hypotheses.
o Refer to any diagrams, questionnaire results, graphs, etc. discussed/ presented in the Results/ Findings Chapter
• What are the implications of your findings?
• How do your findings link with existing research?

Assessment Task
You will conduct a review of the academic literature on the subject of statistical process control.
Following your review, you are to analyse a given set of data to evaluate the performance of a fictional brewery in a given scenario.
You will be expected to illustrate your discussion with examples from academic journals, the trade press and other authoritative sources.
The word count should be 2000 words ±10% (tables, diagrams and appendices are excluded from the count).
Assessment Breakdown
1. Prepare a literature review on the subject of Statistical Process Control, covering the concept from its inception up to the present day.
Ensure that you include references to at least 10 peer-reviewed articles, no more than ten years old. You may also acknowledge older works, providing they are of sufficient importance in charting the development of SPC.
(50% of word count)
2. The supplied spreadsheet contains historic data recording the temperature of combined effluent discharged by a fictional brewery, Waterside Lager Limited (WLL). The data comprises temperatures recorded four times a day over the month of September 2022.
The brewery’s discharges are normally controlled within the range 25oC to 35oC. The maximum legally permitted temperature is 40oC.
Regular maintenance is performed on the balancing system (which neutralises the pH of the effluent at the expense of heating the discharge in the process), normally on a weekly basis.
Use the data to visualise the performance of the effluent control process, describing your analytical approach in detail. Include any graphs generated.
In your view, how well has the plant performed?
What priorities for quality improvements should the plant management set?

 QUESTION 1
Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
Discuss the concepts of hypothesis testing, including what you are evaluating, when it should be used, and the differences between a one- and a two-tailed test.
Describe an example from your own personal or professional experiences where you could apply a hypothesis test, and discuss how knowing that information helped you.
QUESTION 2

This week’s required readings explain the role that analytics plays in the modern business environment. Consider the following questions and respond in a minimum of 175 words:
How is data analytics different from statistics?
Analytics tools fall into 3 categories:descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive. What are the main differences among these categories?
Explain how businesses use analytics to convert raw operational data into actionable information. Provide at least 1 example.
Consider the organization you work for (or another organization you’re familiar with). Does this organization use data analytics? If so, how is it used? If not, how could the organization use data analytics to improve its performance?

A hypothesis is a claim about a population parameter, such as ,u(population mean) or p (population proportion). In hypothesis testing, there are two hypotheses, the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis. Through the null hypothesis the claim always contains the condition of equality and the alternative hypothesis has 3 different possibilities. Within the healthcare world there are many different types of situations to evaluate for outcomes.  We have to test these hypotheses to help us intirate changes.
My hypothesis test that I would like to complete is if certification really improves patient outcomes. Does advanced certification help nurses provide better and safer care and are they necessary to work in critical care units? I would separate the group into nurses with advanced certification and nurses without advanced certification.  We would monitor the patient outcome from both sets of nurses and see if there was a difference in the care being provided.  Overall, this testing could be used to determine if critical care units want to enforce requirements for advanced certification in order to work in the units.
Overall, I think that the results may vary depending on a variety of things, such as experience, education level and facility and level of care provided. While advance certification is a great thing to have and most likely improves patient outcomes, I think these other factors may also play a big role. Because I have personally learned a lot of valuable information and skills throughout my career from nurses and other staff members with less education and less certification than myself.

You must undertake a quantitative research project into any area of business. You may use any data source and any time period you wish, however, the only condition is that data must include a time series, and that the time series includes year 2021. The aim is to produce a research project that examines a topic, analyses data and provides recommendations to management about the topic studied.
